PROS and CONS of fabrics!

As you are mulling over the many different fabric choices, you may be asking yourself...,"What is the difference for each fabric type?"  So I have compiled a list for you to weight the PROS and CONS of each!

MINKY

PROS...very soft, stays looking new, has a higher resale value, keeps baby dry, poop falls off easily....oh did I mention VERY Soft??
CONS...can wick a tiny bit, if your baby is a super flooder, and be a tad warmer in the summer?

FLEECE

PROS...Keeps baby dry, and is rarely a culprit for rashes.
CONS...pills after repeated washings, poop sticks a bit more, and it tends to hold onto stains and smells a bit more.

Bamboo fleece...a natural fiber, which is softer than micofleece, and has no dyes in it.  A great choice if you want an absorbant inner, rather than a stay dry inner, or if your child is sensitive to man made fabrics.

Windpro Fleece...an outer fleece, used only for breathable diapers with no pul.  This fleece has great air flow, yet keeps baby dry.  Best used with an organic cotton insert, rather than microfiber inserts.  Breathable fleece is a great night time diapering option for heavy wetters.

SUEDE CLOTH

PROS...Does not pill and stays looking new, keeps baby dry.
CONS...The fabric is not stretchy, so it might make stuffing a tad more difficult. Some babies experience a rash from suede cloth.  Not very soft.

VELOUR

PROS...keeps baby very dry, no pilling, very soft and not too thick.
CONS...The fabric has a tendancy to wear out faster with areas of slight balding where it is stretched the most. Not too many colors to choose from, and harder for me to sew, therefore limited selection for diaper use on Windpro diapers only.
